Our Mission

The Edmond J Safra Synagogue was a vision of the late Edmond J. Safra, AH: To have a spiritual and social hub for Sephardic Jews in the heart of New York City.

This vision was executed and carried out by his late wife, Lily Safra, AH, and the incredible team at the Edmond J. Safra Foundation.

Since it opened its doors in 2003 the synagogue has grown into a full fledge operation with a robust Torah Center catering to all Sephardic backgrounds and demographics including: men, women, children, teenagers, young adults, etc.

Classes range from everything from Parasha, mussar, Gemara, Halacha and so much more!

The recent creation of the Torah Center was a project envisioned by current president Solly Assa and has been executed by the driven and talented Rabbi Shlomo Farhi and his amazing and dedicated team rabbis.

Today, as we embark on our first ever Torah Center campaign, we reach out to you to not only be a supporter of this important project, but a partner in its growth and its future.
